San Francisco – Logitech webcam manufacturers are planning to buy LifeSize Communications, producer of the video communication device format high-definition (HD).

Launched Yahoo Tech, Wednesday (11/11/2009), Logitech acquisition offer valued at USD405 million in cash. This plan is the first step Logitech to go to market video communication devices in enterprise-class, health, SME business, education and government.
LifeSize itself now has 9000 customers in 80 video conferencing negra in the world. While Logitech had only stuck in a video communication system on the desktop.
This acquisition will also strengthen measures to compete Logitech great with Cisco Systems that have penetrated deep into the business TelePresence and video conferencing. Cisco itself is currently applying for a network provider TANDBERG video conferencing worth $ 3 billion.
Later, Logitech hopes to work with unified communications providers and VoIP to push the market so that a video communication system can be more open.
Logitech hopes this agreement will be completed this December, including the approval of antitrust agencies. If this deal happens, LifeSize will be part of the Logitech business division that will operate in Austin, Texas. (srn)
